E-Waste (Electronic Waste) is a growing problem for our planet Earth. Each year tons of toxic materials and heavy metals end up in our landfills.
The Exploration Station has developed a program in cooperation with 1-800-Got-Junk? to recycle electronic waste in an environmentally friendly manner.
What we take: Bring your old televisions, monitors, computers, laptops, printers, copiers, office machines, all phones and all electronics in any condition. We are a California state approved facility, and The Exploration Station receives money through a government recycling initiative, that we put toward our programs and operating expenses. You can also receive a tax receipt from our non-profit for your donation.
Things we do not take: We are unable to take your old large or small household appliances including microwaves, vacuums, all batteries including battery packs and back-up's or light bulbs.

Along with our recycling efforts, we also rebuild many of the computers we receive within our Computers 4 Youth program. Once rebuilt, these computers are distributed to families who would otherwise be unable to afford one.
You are welcome to bring your electronic waste to the Exploration Station Wednesdays through Fridays, from 12 noon -5:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10AM -5PM at no charge.
We also pick up very large televisions and large loads of electronics at no charge in the greater south county area. For questions about all pick-ups from you homes or business, please call Roger Feldtmose at 473-1421.
