Fun Stuff for Kids

The Exploration Station offers a variety of classes and activities for children on a regular basis. Our Programs and activities emphasize cooperation between adults and youth and encourage vocational learning through exploration and discovery.

LEGO CLUB IS BACK!!

LEGO Club resumes at the Exploration Station in Grover Beach!   The 1st and 3rd Friday of each month from 2pm to 4pm.  Our LEGO club is a free-build, child-led build that is fun for children 4 and older.  We provide the LEGOs and the space and your child provides the imagination!  Building with LEGOs helps develop problem solving skills, spatial awareness, and other mathematical concepts, while also being very fun!    LEGO club is only $2 per child with paid Science Center admission.  Ask us about Exploration Station Member discounts.  For more information see our website, ww.explorationstation.org, or call 473-1421.


American Red Cross Super Sitter Class

 

 

 

The Exploration Station hosts Super Sitter Classes, taught by the American Red Cross, once a month from 9am to 4pm. Youth must be at least 11 years old to take the class. Successful completion of the class will earn the participant a certificate in babysitting as well as the skills and knowledge necessary to become a qualified babysitter.

The course includes: Interviewing for a job, diapering and feeding techniques, bed time issues, basic first-aid and safety and more.

The one day class fee is $50 and includes a handbook and DVD. Super Sitter first-aid kits can be purchased for an additional $10.

Annual Membership Rate: Class Fee $45

All Registration forms and payment must be given to the Exploration Station prior to the class date. Pre-registration is required, and be mindful that class size is limmited. A minimum of 6 students is required to hold the class, so sign-up with friends! If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Program Coordinator at (805)473-1421.

GIRL SCOUT FIELD TRIPS

The Exploration Station hosts fieldtrips for local Girl Scouts to help them earn their badges. These workshops include: Science related labs and experiments.  Workshop costs range from $1 to $5 per girl depending on supply costs.

  MONEY SAVVY KIDS

 Helping Kids Get Smart About Money!

Money Savvy is an hour and a hlaf workshop designed for children ages 6-11yrs to learn about responsible money management that is not only easy but FUN! Children will learn about what it means to save, spend, donate and invest their money. Each child will receive their own personal Money Savvy Piggy Bank and workbook.

Money Savvy Class Fee: $20

Annual Membership Rate: Class Fee $15
